WHAT WE DO

childcare
We believe that exercise is extremely important to a child’s development and our outdoor play areas are used every day.
Jack In The Box

Throughout the year our children are taken for walks which sometimes will include nature rambles in the park.

BABY ROOM

The Baby Room caters for children aged 6 weeks to 1 year. There is safety flooring under the carpet to protect your child should he or she fall.

Communication is of the utmost importance at this stage of development, and our trained nursery nurses are constantly encouraging your child to try new sounds.

Your child learns to use his muscles and senses from lots of physical contact learning to sit, crawl and eventually walk, and discovering new sensory experiences through playing with stimulating toys under the supervision of our nursery nurses. As your child grows, he will be introduced to the Munchkin Room. This usually happens at about 12 months, but this may vary as the decision is made on a child's abilities rather than his age.

MUNCHKIN ROOM

The Munchkin Room caters for children aged between one and two years of age. Your child at this age is walking, beginning to talk, developing curiosity and independence, and becoming more adventurous. We provide an environment in which he can develop physically, emotionally and educationally.

Various activities are planned each day, such as construction kits, jigsaws, drawing, cutting out, singing, story telling and role-playing. When your child is ready he or she will progress into the pre-school room. This usually happens at about 2 years, but may vary, as the decision is made on a child's abilities rather than his or her age.

PRE-SCHOOL

The activities include small and large scale construction sets and other creative activities. This room also has a home corner with miniature furniture and equipment to encouraging role-play. Again, there is safety flooring under the carpet to protect your child should he fall.

We provide an environment in which he can develop physically, emotionally and educationally. Various activities are planned each day, such as construction kits, jigsaws, drawing, cutting out, singing, story telling and role-playing.

The children are encouraged to set out activities and to tidy-up afterward.

The activities included in this room include painting, sand & water play, jigsaws and introducing the children to pre-reading and pre-writing skills. Your child will be encouraged to take part in setting out activities and clearing away, giving him a sense of responsibility.

All of the activities are planned to help your child integrate easily into school and the National Curriculum.
